Super heroes and villains: Who doesn’t know them? As a child you dreamed to be a super hero or to meet a super hero. If you think about a super hero you only see a positive side, but is the reality also like that? A super hero is after all a human too. Our Maastricht Hotel wants to show you the inner dark side of super heroes.

The Inner Dark Side by Kalpana Raghuraman

Kalpana Raghuraman is a choreographer who grows up in an Indian family where she was confronted with the many Indian mythological comics. In this mythological comic strips a hero also can be a bad person and a villain a good person. This inspired Kalpana that she decided to process it in a dance.

Along with six dancers and a singer Kalpana goes looking for a new super hero. Through this screening, they let you see the dark sides of a superhero. They want to let the humanity know that the perfect picture does not exist.

With this performance Kalpana supports the work of The Hunger Project in India. The Huger Project is fighting for sustainable end of chronic hunger. Around this performance it is possible to donate.
